About the Show
The Swinging 60s with Paul Peters here on Guernsey Community Radio. Paul takes you back to the sounds of the sixties, classic hits and trivia from that wonderful decade.
At the age of 16, in November 1965 Paul Peters made his first radio broadcast on Radio Essex , using the name Paul Freeman. This offshore pirate radio station broadcast from an old WW2 Naval Fort called Knock John in the middle of the Thames. In the 70’s he presented shows for the BBC in the south of England.
He then went to work as an appeals director for a large U.K. charity, and he thought that his broadcasting days had come to an end. But in 2006 he got a call, right out of the blue, from the BBC asking him if he’d like to tell his story on BBC Radio 4. He did, and that’s what brought him back to the radio microphone. The Swinging 60’s Show ‘airs’ weekly here on Guernsey Community Radio and on several stations in the worldwide. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
